Feels like what I expect at a public camp ground, heavy duty and will last for years. Before assembly, sourced the lumber at the local hardware store, drilled a few mounting holes, stained and sealed. Knew this was going to be heavy, so carried all the pieces to where the table would finally rest. Assembled upside down on a pair of saw horses. I would recommend having two people to then flip it over.

This is a sturdy product that is just like the kits you find at a national or state park. I have but one recommendation for DYI folks. If you decide to make an 8′ table, place (2) angle supports across all three table boards to keep them level across your table. I mounted them right where the underside angle bracket meets the center plank. See photo. If you do not, your boards may bow or twist across the long run. I used 1 1/2″ angle aluminum.

Table is wonderful, but box is so heavy that it had a hole in the side where someone’s foot went through it. All parts were there though.

This is a heavy duty table. Wife and I built it at a leisurely pace in a couple of hours. Really heavy so have help on hand to move it. Heavy enough I should be able to leave it out when hurricanes hit here. Think it will last the rest of my life. We used five pressure treated 2x10s. Lumber seems fine even for the seats. Once it has about a month to cure we’re going to spray the lumber with Thompson’s Water Seal. All predrilled holes in the frame were perfectly aligned.. You will need a drill bit and some 9/16″ wrenches for assembly. All hardware is included.

I needed a picnic table that would last on our campsite rental lot. Renters can be tough on equipment and the cheap picnic tables wouldn’t last. This kit is a beast. It is very heavy duty. I purchased 2 twelve foot long 2×10’s. I also purchased one 8 foot 2×10. I had HD cut the boards to 6 feet long. It would have been easier if Pilot Rock included instructions. Instead , I had to go by the photos on Amazons website. It was trial and error figuring out how it all went together. I laid my boards down on makeshift supports. The legs should be 59 inches apart. Don’t tighten until all put together. I did tighten the brace some that the lag bolt goes through. This helped hold up the legs until I could position them. I took measurements to center the legs on all sides. I then screwed in the lag bolt tightly. This holds the legs in position until you can get the holes drilled. This is a very nice table. Don’t settle for the big box store cheap models.

We had a ball, myself, my son and my 5 year old grandson putting this together. This is a kit and you need to add 5 2×10’s, 8 footers obviously if you want an 8 foot table. We used pressure treated lumber, and when we were done we sanded it down and stained it. The result was a very good looking, and extremely rugged and durable table that will not tip over. One reason we wanted this kit is because my son is thinking about moving, and this could be disassembled and moved with him if he wants to by removing a few bolts. My grandson was a riot tightening all the nuts with his father’s ratchet…he felt like a real hot shot. The only drawback I can think of for some may be the weight of the finished product. It is heavy.

I just finished assembling this with ridiculously expensive 2×10-8 treated lumber from the depot. The directions are definitel overly complicated, and pictures would do much better instead of fuzzy illustrations. Everything went together great and I had no problems at all, except the two longest bolts that tie together the leg braces with the diagonal braces. They need to be 1/2″ longer. The way the diagonal brace ends are stamped and then crammed in between the leg braces leaves absolutely 1-2 threads sticking out of the nut, which is never a good thing. Still structurally stable, but still.

Built an 8 foot table used 2x10s for the table top and 2x12s for the benches. This makes for a heavy duty picknic table. nothing comparable out there at this price!

Wow! This is the real deal! Pricey but worth it. Just as heavy duty like the ones we use to have in parks way back when. Buy some nice lumber to put it together with. You will be happy.🙂

American Made, strong, looks great and pretty good design. I didn’t follow the instructions so I had a few headaches… I guess instructions are important! But I used 2x10x8′ Redwood boards with a waterproof redwood stain and it looks great! It should last forever if I make sure to stain it every year. Assembly takes a bit of work even if you follow the instructions, so it’s not ‘easy’ but it’s not hard. Having help is good too cause things can fall over.

It’s not a folding table. I knew that. The galvanized coating on some areas has been damaged with a grinder for some reason. These areas will rust

Very happy with this product. Built extremely well! You could park a car on this picnic table. Metal is bent and drilled to perfection … everything lined up. Took about 2.5 hours to put together. Highly recommend having a second person. Made everything go much smoother. Would recommend this product over the big box garbage tables any day.

All that is needed is five 2×10’s. It wasn’t too hard to assemble. I bought pressure treated wood, and the one draw back is it is heavy! I would recommend this product. Great customer service, and they make a quality product.

I assembled the table in one afternoon using the tailgate of my pickup and the pallet forks on my tractor as a work surface. This kit is the table frame ONLY! I used treated 2″x10″x 8ft which are kinda heavy (purchased separately from a local lumber dealer). The tailgate and the tractor forks allowed me to assemble per the instructions without crawling around on my hands and knees (my knees were grateful). I found that drilling pilot holes with a smaller bit caused less splintering of the top wood surface. Also, when drilling the larger holes, use only a bit as large as the bolts provided. I used one slightly smaller than the one suggested in the instructions.

Can’t beat the fabrication quality on this kit, everything fits together well and is rock solid sturdy, only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is I was short 3 nuts, had to go to the hardware store to finish the build

If only they came with a set of instructions! We ordered two of the picnic table frames and they are definitely heavy duty. Unfortunately neither box contained instructions and one box was missing several of the bolts. My husband and I assembled the bases and then moved them to the location in our neighborhood where we wanted them set up. Once they were in place we added the boards. These are so heavy duty they should last for decades!

This picnic table frame is outstanding. I used 3 2×10’s for the top and 2 2×12’s for the benches. It was easy to assemble in a couple hours. I highly recommend!

This picnic table is SOLID. And HEAVY. I expect it to last for many years. I went to the Pilot Rock website and ordered the “Table Top End Caps” for $21.00. The end caps are galvanized steel channels that hold the table-top planks in line to prevent warping (see pic). The quality of this table is 5-stars, for sure.

This is exactly like the picnic tables that are in National Parks. Easy to assemble very sturdy and great price. The all wood one’s the big box stores are half what these cost BUT Don’t hold up. You get what you pay for.

There is really nothing to dislike about this product. It is extremely well made and extra heavy duty. This table will outlive me. I supplied my own 2’X10′ pressure-treated lumber. I did assemble it alone and that task was really made simple by using my landscape trailer and assembling the table upside down. Once assembly was complete I towed the trailer to the designated place in my yard slid it to the end and rolled it over and off. Super easy. The total assembly time was 3.5 hours. I am extremely satisfied with this “beast” of a table. :)

Just finished putting this beast together. The legs are solid and heavy. All the bolt holes lined up with precision. The bolts themselves are heavily galvanized a dull gray color. The legs are galvanized bright. They should last 20 years. I’ll update this post then with a status update. These legs aren’t the cheapest on the market, but you get what you pay for.

It is not cheap; however, when you get done with it – with several coats of stain on the wood – it will last forever. It is not a “throw away” piece of outdoor furniture. This thing is STRONG, and you will NEVER get that for $99. You get what you pay for.

This table is awesome. Great instructions! I stained the wood and sprayed the base black with rustoleum paint. It came out great. Word of advice. DO NOT tighten everything up until you have all boards on and all bolts ready to tighten.
