This was delivered in two large boxes. The instructions aren’t great, but the assembly is pretty straightforward so no issues there. The wood is very good and the cuts are clean. Once assembled, the thing looks great and is very comfortable. As you can see in the picture, we have it in a great spot and have enjoyed glasses of wine while overlooking our ranch. We have already ordered another one and may get a third. Highly recommended.Update: despite how well built these are- they can’t survive a 40 foot oak tree falling on it. We were so upset to see our seat crushed by this tree. It was a great spot to sit and watch the world go by.

This is our second one. We stained it and sealed it. We use it frequently! High quality construction and sturdy. We keep it outside year round (including in harsh Wisconsin winters). The first one has held up for years and years. The most recent one we have had for about 10 months and no issues. Initially, there was sap in some places, however that has gone away now, but not without it getting on clothes a couple times.

We opted to stain our furniture with solid stain. Living in the PNW, we have more rain than most, so we chose to protect it from the elements. We also chose bright colors for a fun look!

We received the bench parts very quickly. Upon unboxing, I noticed that the slots for the backs to fit into the bottom piece were drilled at the wrong angle. I called their customer service and left a message after hours. Calvin called me back after hours, apologized for the error, and promptly put in a replacement part order. This was on a Friday at 8pm. Thenpart arrived Monday morning and the lot followed up to make sure everything was good. Excellent 5 star customer service.Upon assembly, everything fit together perfectly. It stained nicely, and is now sitting on our front porch. It’s comfortable and sturdy as well. A perfect addition to our outdoor furniture. Well worth the price.

This is the 3rd loveseat we have ordered from Lakeland Mills. These loveseats are very comfortable to sit in. Stain nicely. The first two still look brand new. My husband did add some “feet” since we sit them out in the yard. This way the legs don’t deteriorate by coming in contact with the ground.

This product was reasonably priced and fairly easy to assemble. I stained it before assembly with a UV/water repellant natural cedar color stain. I had no issues and it looks great and is comfortable.

I chose the white cedar furniture for use at our log cabin which we rent short-term to travelers and outdoor sportsmen (so as not to be slammed by the PC police…that includes outdoor sportswomen as well ;-). We have the tete-a-tete, 2 individual chairs and the round coffee table. They’re perfect for our setting! We’ve owned them for about a month. They’re very sturdy and attractive AND super comfortable. I plan to purchase additional cedar furniture from Lakeland Mills in the future.We haven’t decided yet if we’ll seal the wood. Our cabin is white cedar pine that has weathered and aged and I believe we’ll leave it that way. I think it makes sense to let the white cedar furniture do the same!Assemby…well, could be worse I guess. You really can’t have “very sturdy” without suffering through the steps to make it so. I was able to assemble the pieces myself after a quick lesson in power tools from my husband :-) Trust me, you do not want to attempt to hand-screw this furniture together!

The Tete-A-Tete was the fourth piece of this cedar log furniture I have bought and assembled. I did it by myself, in the living room for the most part because it was over 90 degrees outside. I only needed assistance in getting the piece carried out to the porch for the final phases of assembly. Must be on solid (not carpeted) surface to insure proper leveling.However, the cedar log chair that I had put together totally on carpet earlier (remember to vacuum afterwards) did, in a few days, settle to a very solid, no longer wobbly state. Gravity, and the initial greenness of the wood may have accounted for that.The current picture of this product is not showing two, small angle pieces that attach to the front legs and to the under part of the seats for added strength and support. When this is assembled, you know it’s not going anywhere. Solid furniture.Wrestling the thing in the house, at times propping parts against other furniture, standing it first on one end then the other, working with the legs and arm rests is a bit of work, but very satisfying. The seat and back parts are pre-assembled — you connect them to the front and back legs and arm pieces. Put in as few screws as needed to hold it in shape for the move outside. But do align and tighten the two big 7/16″ nut driven screws with the predrilled hole in the arm rests. This is best done with the thing standing on end.You have 18 screws (I found that two were too long and protruded when tightened, so I replaced them). You’ll need a rubber hammer (or block of wood and hammer), a Phillips head screw driver (read: drill with P2 bit), and a 7/16″ wrench. Making your own predrilled holes is helpful, but not necessary.One of the seat slats had been chipped in transit. With the rocking chair, I merely glued it back in place, but this chip had broken into 3 or 4 pieces. I called the included 800 number, described which slat was damaged, and am expecting a replacement soon in the mail. I’ll just unscrew the three screws in the damaged one, and replace it with the new one.I am surprised at the reviews of cedar log outdoor furniture that mention staining or treating the wood. Not necessary with cedar, and if you do, you introduce the big “M” word: Maintenance! I’m letting mine turn a natural silver-gray, much as my hair has done! We’ll continue to grow old gracefully, naturally, and hopefully together.

I ordered the Lakeland Mills Tete-A-Tete seating for my front yard. There were a couple of missing pieces from the box, but I called Lakeland Mills and the people there were friendly and helpful and they shipped out the missing parts within a couple days. Overall, the seat was easy to assemble, looks great and is very comfortable. I’m very happy with my purchase.

The chairs came well packaged, all of the screws and attachments were there. I sealed the wood, there are cracks and joints that if the water gets in I think they would rot or crack worse. Over all I’m very happy and will purchase more.

I bought at least 1 of each item, building seating accommodations for a log home deck. Have looked for some time for a durable option that either didn’t break the bank, or look flimsy or high maintenance. This “assembly required” option of genuine cedar furniture is perfect! Several personal options here, but for planning purposes for those that want a finished chair/table/set: It took a good 30-45 min of sanding with 5″ rotary sander to get rough logs in a position to stain/seal/finish. You could use them “as is”, but the milling process does leave quite a rough finish and likely most people will want to sand these a bit. I chose a penetrating oil based stain approach instead of trying to “seal” them with poly/other marine type finish – having fought the sun/weather in CO mountains for years, it’s a battle that materials still are not suited to win. I put 2 coats on each piece, and a rough estimate is a quart of finish for a chair/table, and a bit more for the 4′ bench/setee option. The first coat really sinks in, the second much less so. All sanding and finishing considered, there is about 3 hours of sanding/assmbly/staining for the chair pieces and less for the small table. A really nice bonus – cedar smells great while sanding! Really enjoyable project and a great quality product. BONUS: Customer Service is EXCEPTIONAL, great midwestern “we got ya” approach.* I called after breaking a cross piece during assembly (some joints should be sanded a bit, they are really tight) and they had a replacement in the mail by the end of the day (and never even hinted at asking for my credit card, after I explained I was fully at fault for putting too much force on the piece during assembly). Will not hesitate to order from this company again!

The furniture is sturdy and looks amazing. It is comfortable even without pillows and it was a fairly easy set up. I did it by myself (female here ;) ). Once put together you will need a second person to carry it to where you need it because it is that heavy but it also withstands storms fantastically without moving an inch ;) It is completely untreated wood which it won’t be once I put the sealer on it. I don’t want it to turn grey so I will be sealing it with the same stuff I will use for the deck itself. I also bought the chair, a side table and a foot rest of this brand and I am loving it. It gives my porch a very cozy and “cabniny” feel. Would definitely recommend getting this!

Just purchased this product a few days ago. It arrived quickly. The paper work inside indicates that you should inventory all of the contents right away to make sure they are all present and undamaged as you only have 24 hours to contact Lakeland Mills. Strongly considering getting a matching chair or two to go along with it for my back patio. I’m happy with this product overall.

Whoever put it together had a bad day because it was a bad job. Most of the holes was a little bit too small and oval so I had to redo it. One of the seat had a missing screw and the piece that had the cracked should of face the back side . Also the other seat, the line of the screw was off . Made in USA but felt like I bought it from somewhere else

This bench makes a wonderful addition to our backyard. We opted to stain it with a semi-transparent stain/sealer to lengthen the amount of time we between restraining. I actually prefer the lighter wood. The stain ended up looking more red than I wanted but that’s to be expected with this type of wood.

I now have 4 of these ! They replace the one I bought 15 years ago at a hardware store in Park Rapids, MN. They have not gone up much in price and they are still the same high quality wood they were back then! I put several coats of marine varnish on them and then assembled them, put a final coat of varnish on at the end. They are super comfortable and extremely sturdy. The perfect thing for sitting around the fire in the backyard!

My husband said it was difficult to put together by himself. He ended up using ratchet straps to keep the pieces in until he could secure them. BUT it is super comfortable and very sturdy, so, worth it!
